A family get-together is never complete without an amusement activity for everyone to partake in. As such, when hosting or organising one, you would want to bring out the sporty and competitive spirit in each one by facilitating family games. Here are creative ideas you can try out for your own party.
You can create your own memory game by collecting photographs of everyone in the clan. You can include pictures of those who cannot attend the event to make the activity more challenging. Have two prints for each snapshot and make sure that everything is cut out in the same size as the others. To set up, lay all the pictures face down either on a large table or on a board, forming a grid. Make sure that all items are randomly arranged. To play, a contender flips a photo and picks another one. If the turned up images are alike, they will be removed from the board. This goes on until all items have been paired up. You can set a time limit for every team or contender for additional thrills. You can also try out other mental activities such as a guessing game or a trivia quiz.
It is also a brilliant idea to go for physical games. This way, you can get everybody to stretch up and put their bodily strength to the test. Just make sure not to go for overly strenuous ones to enable even those with health conditions to join in. A perfect example would be the “statue dance,” in which participants are asked to move to the music then freeze when it stops. The mechanics of this game are simple and doable for almost everyone!
